Read Easy UK is a national charity providing free, confidential one-to-one reading coaching for adults from trained volunteers, through locally-run, affiliated volunteer groups. Read Easy Shropshire Hills was formed in early 2019, and, together with a neighbouring group in Telford, provides coaching throughout Shropshire and into North Herefordshire and East Powys. They provide free reading coaching for adults who want to learn to read, with both face-to-face and online coaching available where there is a suitable venue. Computer tablets can be provided free of charge where necessary and are set up to be usable by anyone who wants to learn online. It needs no prior knowledge of IT or keyboard skills as the reader and coach are connected at the touch of a button. Reading pairs meet up for two half hour coaching sessions a week and Readers learn at their own pace without pressure or exams to worry about.
