The Association of Teachers of Lipreading to Adults (ATLA) is the only organisation dedicated to teaching this valuable skill. ATLA has qualified members throughout the country who run sessions for anyone who struggles to hear, and they are often more accurately called ‘Lipreading and Managing Hearing Loss’ classes. These classes can enable people who struggle to hear to stay in work, and also, whether working or retired, to continue to enjoy the company of family and friends.
