Walking is a free physical activity that can benefit your physical, social and mental well-being just by stepping outside your house and appreciating the outdoors. There are country parks in Telford and many other locations with beauty and historical areas that make the walks more enjoyable. Getting started is easy. You don’t need any special equipment and with the variety of free walks on offer, you will be able to choose a walk at a time to suit you. Each walk is run by qualified volunteer walk leader; there are normally two walk leaders per walk, however smaller walks may only have one. Each walk leader has completed a one day training course from Ramblers Wellbeing Walks and will make you very welcome. The walks are very sociable and most end in a cafe or hall for a hot drink and biscuit. Many walkers attend on their own and the walks are an ideal place to meet people and make new friends. Ramblers Wellbeing Walks (Shawbirch) meet at The Woolpack Car Park every Friday at 10.15 am and suitable footwear with a good grip is recommended. The main weblink provided is for the Grade 1 walk.
