St George’s Roman Catholic Church serves the community within the parish of Whitchurch, which falls under the Shrewsbury Diocese. The Roman Catholic congregation in Whitchurch began meeting at a private house in Green End in 1855, with the present chapel in Claypit Street being opened for worship in 1878, and their mission is to nurture a diverse and welcoming community.
