Located in rural North Shropshire, near Market Drayton, Stoke on Tern is a 5 class village school with its own nursery. We have a strong caring ethos, where every child is valued as an individual. We also offer before and after school care for children aged 3-11 years old term time only. A breakfast club takes children from 8.00am Monday to Friday, and provides a choice of healthy breakfasts. We have also offer an after school club which currently runs until 5.00pm Monday to Friday. We offer a 15% sibling discount for both clubs. Breakfast Club is £4.00 per session and After School Club £4.50 until 4.30pm and £6.50 until 5.00pm. Children are cared for in the secure environment of the school buildings and fenced outdoor areas. Our clubs are organised and run by fully qualified staff who are already employed within school and nursery. Stoke-on-Tern Nursery has been running on the school site for many years. The Nursery gives the children a great start to their education at Stoke on Tern and provides them with a gradual transition into school where they can become familiar with the routines of school life and expected ways of working and behaving. Nursery children are taught alongside Reception in a large, well-equipped, adjoining classroom, following a curriculum designed to support them in meeting the Early Learning Goals of the EYFS Framework.Our Nursery provision is led by a qualified Teacher and an experienced Early Years Practitioner who have the necessary expertise and experience to ensure that the curriculum offered to each child prepares them for their next steps in education. We provide high quality teaching and learning experiences, led by the children’s interests and class topics which will enable every child to progress towards meeting the Early Learning Goals expected at the end of Reception. We recognise that each child will develop at their own pace and in their own way physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. We have a lovely large playground and school field with a separate Early Years Area and Forest School Area. The Nursery currently operates Mondays –Fridays, 8.45am – 3:15 pm, during term time.
