The Church of the Holy Fathers of Nicaea is a thriving and diverse Orthodox Church, with many members hailing from traditional Orthodox countries, eg Greece, Cyprus, Romania, the Ukraine, Russia, etc, as well as many British people who have found a home in Orthodox Christianity. They are a church of the Greek Orthodox Church (Ecumenical Patriarchate) within the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, maintaining a full cycle of services, celebrated in English with some Greek, Romanian and Church Slavonic. Weekend services are held at 6pm on Saturdays (Vespers) and at 9.30am on Sunday mornings (Matins and Divine Liturgy). In addition, the Paraklesis (service of intercession) to the Theotokos is served every Thursday at 7pm, and they also celebrate services on major feasts and saints’ days. Full details of services can be found on the calendar oby following the link to their website. On the first Sunday of each month the service is held in Telford. Services and church events are open to anyone – Orthodox or not – who would like to go along and share in their life of worship and prayer. The Divine Liturgy on Sundays and feast days is followed by a time of fellowship to which all are welcome, and they also have regular youth activities, with a youth club on the third Sunday of the month and Sunday School on the first Sunday of each month.
