The Street Allotment Project in Shrewsbury find and borrow unused land to convert into allotment spaces, and with the help of donations and volunteers, turn it into a viable space to grow free vegetables for the community. Project volunteers meet at one of the plots each Sunday morning, between 9am and 11am to work together, building a growing community of gardeners and spreading the word of how the simple action of putting seeds and seedlings into the ground will bring its own joys and rewards throughout the season. New volunteers who have either none, some, or lots of experience in gardening, are always most welcome, to help share in the joys and create more spaces for the community to benefit from. Getting involved with the Project is good for you and good for your community.
