Our Victorian school building, dating back to 1871, and newer school building, are situated in the beautiful rural setting of Moreton Say, near Market Drayton, Shropshire. Set within large grounds; grounds which include access to our own extensive on-site forest, means all children learn and explore both inside and outside the classroom from the minute they join us! Internally our school facilitates learning through the provision of stimulating classroom environments which include access for all our pupils to a range of ICT and a school library. We are extremely proud of our status as a Church of England Primary School and of our links with the Diocese of Lichfield and local Church St. Margaret’s of Antioch which dates back to the 12th Century. The school is vibrant, nurturing and engaging learning environment with children able to start there learning journey within the wonderful Ercall Nursery Class or via entering the main school. Moreton Say school is such a fabulous place to learn. The school is ambitious and aims high academically whilst teaching all those within to act with love and compassion always and to demonstrate respect to all. At Moreton Say we offer a range of Before and After School care. This in–house care provision is held on School premises with all staff DBS checked along with holding the relevant qualifications, experience and First Aid Training. Our Breakfast Club is available from 7:45am until the start of the school day. Our After School Club begins as soon as the school day ends. Your child will be taken to the session along with their school coats and bags. This session is structured into different parts to help our children enjoy their stay with us. We like to keep the children busy and active and runs until 6pm. Moreton Say Nursery is open to children aged from two years to four years old. The Nursery is expertly led by Mrs Butler and her support lead Mrs Arblaster. At Moreton Say Nursery, we believe children learn best through play and meaningful activities. Play provides children with rich experiences in which they have the opportunity to make plans and choices, to be creative, to investigate, to practice skills, to set their own pace, to follow their own interests and fascinations, to concentrate, to communicate with others and to build feelings of confidence and self-esteem. A typical nursery day starts at 9am and ends at 3pm with lots of child and adult initiated learning. Our Nursery room is vibrant, welcoming, and devised into the seven areas of learning. Our learning happens both inside and outside. Our outdoor area has recently been renovated to further stimulate imagination, play and physical challenges. Staff creatively design inviting play and learning activities. These activities are stimulating, creative and fun and allow children to enhance their learning and development by challenging the child, promoting discovery and enquiry. Children who attend the nursery are also able to access the wraparound care available.
