Shrewsbury u3a (University of the Third Age) offers learning in retirement. Meetings are normally held on third Monday each month starting at 10.30am. The main entrance to Theatre Severn is open to u3a members at 9.45am. Prospective members can attend one meeting and/or a study group meeting before deciding whether to join. Members may also join special interest groups on a wide variety of subjects: architecture, archaeology, art and antiques, family and local history, gardening and garden history, language groups, music, philosophy, photography, poetry, theatre and walking. These groups meet at other times during the month. Further details are shown on the Groups and Events pages of the Shrewsbury u3a website. Prospective members who wish to find out more about the u3a are welcome to go along to their coffee time held at Palmer’s Cafe on Claremont Street between 2pm – 4pm on the last Friday in the month (except December).
