Safe Places Shropshire is a community-led initiative supported by Shropshire Council, Telford & Wrekin Council, and West Mercia Police. It provides a network of ‘short-term safe havens’ for people who may require additional support and assistance when they are out and about in the community. The aim of ‘Safe Places’ is to provide vulnerable individuals with a number of places that they know they can go to and immediately receive support and understanding about their issues. This includes people with learning disabilities or those who live with anxiety attacks or dementia. Each location that signs up to the initiative will display a sticker that identifies it as a ‘Safe Place’.This scheme gives people more confidence to travel independently around Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. It will also allow carers to feel reassured that there is always likely to be help nearby for their loved ones.As of August 2024 the following locations in Ludlow had signed up to the initiative:Barclays Local (inside Ludlow Library)Boots PharmacyBorder Computer SystemsCancer Research, 3 High StreetHands Together LudlowHope House Charity ShopLanyon Bowdler SolicitorsLittle TwidletsLoudwater Community Arts (formerly Loudwater Studios)Ludlow Brewing CompanyLudlow LibraryMidcounties Co-operative, Foldgate LaneMonkey ManiaOne Stop, 9 Tower StreetOxfam Book ShopOxfam StandardSPARTwigs Flowers and GiftsWesley’s CaféWorking Together (Ludlow Ltd). For more information, please follow the link to visit the Safe Places Shropshire website or contact Ruby using the details provided, or Ann by telephone on 07970 816030 or via email to: safeplacessecretary@gmail.com We're sorry but <%= htmlWebpackPlugin.options.title %> doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.
