Leonard Cheshire supports individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, Leonard Cheshire is at the heart of local life – opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe. In 2020 the charity reached more than 75,000 people and organisations, mostly through inclusive employment, education and community programmes. This included directly supporting 61,000 disabled people in the UK and internationally. They also supported more than 5,000 children with disabilities to get an education in Africa, providing inclusive education training to 1,931 teachers, disabled people’s organisations and government officials.
