The Hands Together Ludlow Community Fridge works with local supermarkets and retailers, producers and growers to rescue good quality, surplus food, free of charge for re-distribution. The Community Fridge at Lower Galdeford is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm, and anyone is able to use it for a minimum £1 donation. If you are unable to make a donation, staff are able to provide additonal support and information. Hands Together Ludlow also accepts all sorts of food donations, from a glut of runner beans from your allotment, to excess Easter eggs that your shop may have overstocked. Please contact their Food Coordinator, Julia, using the email address provided, or just drop in. The Fridge is staffed by volunteers on 3 hour shifts and also has collection drivers who pick up from shops each day. If you would like to offer you time, please follow the related link to find out about volunteering opportunities. Food Hub: Plans are currenly underway for The Sapce at Number 15 to provide a warm and welcoming space that brings people together to enjoy hot drinks and snacks, connect, and learn new skills as well as reduce food waste. Recipe cards and flyers will be available if you need help about cooking within a budget, making the most of your leftovers, or using your freezer to save money. Feel free to ask for details on Healthy Eating Cookery sessions. Hands Together Ludlow are also recruiting volunteers to staff the kitchen, serve refreshments and turn surplus food from The Fridge into hearty soups and (possibly) ready meals to go back into The Fridge re-distribution. For more information about any of the above, please contact Hands Together Ludlow using the details provided.
