The Wellbeing & Care Team organises health awareness events in towns and large villages throughout the county, held in accessible venues so that people can access quality advice in their local area. These events cover topics including arthritis awareness, healthy eating, and falls prevention, and offer hints and tips on how to stay active, healthy and independent.The Team also delivers sight loss groups in Ludlow, Oswestry and Shrewsbury, as well as hearing loss support hubs located in all the market towns across Shropshire.A Buddy Scheme which is a support service for people who are lacking confidence, have low self-esteem, feel isolated and alone is also offered, where a trained buddy is matched with the person requiring support, to enable people to get out into their communities, attend events, exercise classes and / or support groups.The Wellbeing & Care Team are also involved in the social prescribing programme in Shropshire, and run the Community Connector meetings in the Shrewsbury, South East and South West areas of the county.
