Healthwatch Shropshire is the health and social care champion for people and local communities in Shropshire. Their aim is to help make sure everyone gets the best from their health and social care services, and to give patients, service users, carers and the wider public a real say in the way health and social care services are run. They have the power to ensure NHS leaders and other decision makers listen to your feedback and improve standards of care. If you use GPs and hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, care homes or other support services, they would like to hear about your experiences.Healthwatch can also help people to find reliable and trustworthy information and advice. Last year, they helped thousands of people to have their say and get the information and support they needed.Volunteers are at the heart of Healthwatch Shropshire – going out in the community everyday listening to people to find out if health and care is working for them – and there are lots of different ways people can get involved as a Healthwatch volunteer, from speaking to people about their experiences of health and social care, to using their skills to support the local Healthwatch office. For more information, please follow the link to their website, or alternatively use the contact details provided for an informal chat about volunteering roles and how you can help.
