Shrewsbury Mountaineering Club organises mountaineering, rock-climbing and walking for outdoor enthusiasts over 18 years of age. They meet every Tuesday evening, all year round, for a short and sociable walk around the Shropshire Hills ending with a visit to a local country pub. The climbers also meet on Thursday evenings; outdoors in the summer and indoors in winter or when the weather is bad. Many events are held in North Wales, and the Club owns a club cottage in North Wales for group accommodation. The Club also has frequent weekend and longer trips throughout the UK and abroad.
