Small Woods Association is a UK-wide member based woodland charity which promotes traditional management of broad-leaved woodland through teaching traditional craft and coppice management skills. They run the Green Wood Centre in Coalbrookdale near Ironbridge. A range of courses and training in woodland crafts are held at the Centre, together with a varied events programme. Small Woods also run group sessions for people requiring wellbeing support, teaching new and old craft skills, in addition to a veterans group supporting ex-service personnel. The Cruck Barn is a gift shop selling a range of woodland related products and ecofriendly items run by volunteers from the local area. Volunteers can also work at the Centre or in local woods to learn about coppicing and woodland management tasks, and new members to the team are always most welcome.
