Market Drayton Hockey Club provides opportunities for all to play both social and competitive hockey. There are three men’s teams that play on Saturdays at Keele University in various divisions of the Warwick Printing Midlands Regional Hockey League. The men’s team also competes in the midweek Mercian Summer Hockey League and contest friendlies at different times of year. The Ladies team have joined with Wem Hockey Club to play in the Shropshire League in Shawbury on Saturdays. Training sessions take place as follows: Men’s and older boys’ training takes place on Thursday evenings at Whitchurch Leisure Centre from 7.30pm to 9pm; The ladies and girls train at Shawbury on Wednesday evenings; Coaching for U14 boys and girls takes place at Maurice Chandler Sports Centre on Friday evenings from 6pm to 7pm and Junior School aged boys and girls coaching is also on Friday evenings from 5pm to 6pm at the same venue.
