PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide in the UK. They promote mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people and provide services such as advice through their HOPELineUK service and training in suicide awareness and intervention skills. The website has a wealth of resources available for download. PAPYRUS was founded in 1997 by Jean Kerr, a mother from Lancashire. She and a small group of parents who had each lost a child to suicide were convinced that that many young suicides are preventable.
