Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery offers visitors the opportunity to journey through the history and heritage of this medieval town and Shropshire. Part of Shropshire’s Culture, Leisure & Tourism Team, Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery contains five interesting galleries: Roman gallery, Shropshire gallery, Medieval gallery, Tudor and Stuart gallery, and the Special Exhibitions gallery, and admission is free of charge. The Museum and Art Gallery is also home to the town’s Visitor Information Centre, the Museum shop, and a café bar, and can offer room hire for meetings, functions and events at the Museum, which is also a licensed wedding venue. There is a volunteering programme for anyone interested in helping with the care and documentation of some collections.
