The Association is a friendly group for all railway modellers, whatever your modelling preferences, from Z gauge through to G gauge, electric, battery or live steam. With around 35 members, someone within the group is likely to have a similar interest. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month (except August), between 7pm and 9pm, and activities include: the opportunity to talk about railway modelling with like-minded people; talks by guest speakers such as Modelling the Midland in Scale 7 with David Hunt or Pendon Museum – Modelling the Past for the Future; demonstration and “show you how” evenings, led by well-known specialists such as professional model maker Dan Evason; members too are encouraged to “take to the stage”, to share their particular interests, skills and modelling experiences. The group prides itself on being helpful and encouraging to beginners and “old hands” alike, and new members are always most welcome. Anyone who enjoys talking about railway modelling, or wants to learn more about it as a hobby, is invited to join in at any of their meetings. Tea, coffee, biscuits and a warm welcome are always assured.
