Swimming After Surgery is a friendly group, offering free swimming lessons / sessions to ladies who have had cancer surgery. The sessions take place at Short Wood Primary School on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, between May and November. It is essential to book a place by telephoning Fiona Smith. SAS also support ladies with cancer by signposting them to benefit advice and help with applications for benefits, etc. In addition, they are currently providing home-made crochet shawls to help ladies stay warm during treatment, so that they do not have the difficulty of putting their arms through cardigans or jumpers.
