Dal Dy Dir is a charitable organisation, working in partnership with Forest Cottages. Dal Dy Dir provides residential placements, respite and supported breaks for families with disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Dementia, Mental Health and many others. We believe that every person deserves the right to take a break, free from fear of judgement or discrimination. We believe in allowing your family to just be a family on holiday; whatever that looks like. We can support you to plan your bespoke respite break depending on your individual requirements. Our rurally based four acre site in Newtown Mid Wales, we are able to offer emergency respite placements, respite breaks and day services. We work with both the individual and their families using an inclusive family approach. The Forest is a beautiful four acre holiday complex, nestled in a magnificent valley on the outskirts of Kerry which offer four cosy and comfortable cottages with all the amenities of home. Games room, play area, paddocks and extensive mature gardens provides Dal Dy Dir with the scope it needs. We use a range of animals as therapeutic learning tools, including goats, sheep and chickens. In addition to this, we provide sensory learning lessons and rural based activities such as our Forest School sessions and music workshops to give the whole family a chance to learn new skills ina supported warm and safe environment.
