Caritas offers a free well being support service, providing help with emotional support, parenting advice, budgeting and mental health. This service is available at the Roy Fletcher Centre in Shrewsbury from Monday to Thursday, between 9am and 2.30pm. Clients can ring or text to book an appointment to come in, or have a chat on the phone or via zoom call. There is also a drop-in service available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9.30am and 11.30am (although it is advisable for clients to check availability beforehand) Caritas is the new social action and social justice agency of the Diocese of Shrewsbury which seeks to develop the Church’s social mission in the years ahead. Encompassing the work of the former Catholic Children’s Society, and with invaluable support from the diocesan-wide ‘Our Mission Together’ initiative, their portfolio has been extended to include: intergenerational work; young people at the risk of becoming homeless; accessible community hubs; and work with those seeking refuge and asylum.
