All children have dreams, but how many get the chance to turn their dream into reality? For every child who is suffering from a life-threatening illness or a long-term debilitating condition the Dreams Come True Charity brings dreams to life by granting these wishes. The impact of this is great for both the children and their famillies. Dreams Come True work with children who are living in the highest areas of deprivation in the country, and are living with a disability, serious illness, or life-limiting conditions. Below is a list of some of the conditions that they accept but please bear in mind that this is by no means exhaustive, if you have a query about the eligibility of a condition, please reach out to them for more information: Cancer treatment Severe autism, learning difficulties or global developmental delay Heart, lung, bowel and kidney conditions Degenerative neurological disorders or brain damage Muscular dystrophy Conditions affecting the immune system Genetic disorders Please Note: They only accept dreams for UK residents aged 5-18 years old living in the highest areas of deprivation on a referral basis from professionals that are involved in the young person’s care. For example, medical, healthcare, educational or social care. They extend their age range (2-18 year olds) and deprivation criteria for children who need a dream as soon as possible, please get in touch for more information on this.
