Will Aid is a special partnership between the legal profession and seven of the UK’s best-loved charities: Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, and Trocaire. Every November, participating solicitors volunteer their time and waive their fee for writing a basic will. Instead, they invite clients to make a voluntary upfront donation to Will Aid (they suggest £100 for a single basic will and £180 for a pair of basic ‘mirror’ wills.) With Will Aid, everyone benefits. Clients get peace of mind, thanks to a professionally drawn up will, and the satisfaction of helping some great causes. Solicitors benefit from publicity, meeting new clients, and using their expertise to change lives through the donations they raise, but most importantly, these donations enable the charities to continue their life-saving work.
