The British Gas Energy Trust (BGET), which incorporates the Scottish Gas Energy Trust, is an independent charitable trust whose aim is to alleviate the detrimental impact of poverty, with a focus on fuel poverty. Established in 2004 and funded solely by British Gas, the Trust funds local charities in the heart of communities across the country who can support you with free and impartial money and energy advice, and provide energy debt write-off grants to people in energy debt. Anyone in energy debt can apply for a British Gas Energy Trust grant.
