Woore Primary and Nursery School are proud to offer children a high quality, well-rounded education with fantastic opportunities to develop self-confidence, independence and a love of learning. The school is a happy and secure place. The children enjoy learning and playing in the substantial grounds, surrounded by Shropshire farmland. The grounds include a Forest School area, with a fenced pond providing a valuable and unique resource, for environmental education. We have our own nursery for children from 2 years which links very closely to the main school.Woore Primary and Nursery School offers wrap around care for families with their on-site before and after school care provision. Our before school care club starts at 8.00am and runs to the start of the school day Monday to Friday. Our after school care club runs from 3.15-5.30pm and is available in two seperate blocks as follows: 3.15-4.15 is charged at £3.50 or 4.15-5.30 is charged at £4.50. Parents are able to book the before and after school care sessions themselves in advance on the School Money payment platform. Please ensure this has been done by 12.00 midnight the night before. Our nursery is part of the main school and is managed by the headteacher. The nursery benefits from instant access to the large outdoor learning space which it shares with the children in Class 1. This allows strong links to be made across the EYFS with pupils having opportunities to share learning environments and opportunities together. Children have free-flow to the outdoor environment throughout the day. Your child/ren will benefit from a child-centred approach where planning phonics sessions and reading, writing and maths will be integrated within your child’s play.Forest School sessions take place every week alongside Class 1. Nursery pupils integrate within school routines such as assemblies and join school pupils on school visits, school workshops and of course during playtimes. We have found that the school children are wonderfully protective and caring of the younger children at these times, whilst our nursery pupils love the opportunity to be with the ‘big children’ and integrate easily into the life of ‘Big School’.Due to our rural location, we attract children from a wide geographical area, and we are able to offer places for pupils from 2 years until they reach school age. Most of our children progress, at four years of age through to the Reception/Y1 class. We accept 24u funding, 15 & 30 hours for 3 & 4 years old.Local offer: At Woore Primary and Nursery School we believe this to be very true and we pride ourselves on following this ethos daily.
