National Energy Action (NEA) is a national fuel poverty charity which works to ensure that everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is warm and safe at home. Fuel poverty is when a household is spending 10% or more of its income on maintaining a satisfactory heating regime. This is also known as fuel stress. NEA provide energy bill help to households unable to cope with rising energy bills, via an advice line providing over-the-phone and chat help, plus a range of useful resources to help those struggling with the cost of energy which are available on their website. They work as an advocacy organisation, putting pressure on the government to improve the energy bill help available, and also provide training to individuals and organisations looking to provide energy advice.
