Shropshire Libraries: Concessionary Membership

Membership of Shropshire Libraries is free if you live, work or study in Shrophsire. You can join online and will immediately be able to use many of the e-library services, including e-Books and e-Audio, e-Magazines and e-Newspapers. You’ll also be able to place requests via the online library catalogue. You are eligible for concessionary membership if you would describe yourself as having any of the following:

a physical disability

a learning difficulty

another disability / need

dyslexia

or if you are:

a carer

a Skills for Life student (over 18)

housebound

Benefits of concessionary membership:

There is no charge to reserve books or talking books which are available in Shropshire.

Loans are for three weeks, but you can renew items.

There is no charge for items returned late, but you may be asked to return any overdue items before borrowing anything else.

How to apply for concessionary membership:
If you are already a member of Shropshire Libraries and think you may be eligible, please contact us with your membership number. This is on your card and starts ‘DD’. Alternatively, ask at your local Shropshire Libraries branch.
If you aren’t already a member of Shropshire Libraries, please complete an application (available online), then when you or your carer visits the library to collect your membership card just let the staff know that you’re entitled to concessionary membership and they’ll set it up for you.For more information or instructions on how to join online, please follow the link provided to the Concessionary membership webpage, or visit your local Shropshire Library branch.
