At Oakmeadow, we are very proud to be a part of The Marches Academy Trust and the local community of Bayston Hill. We are a large Church of England primary and nursery school of 480 pupils. We are a values based school and this ethos of celebrating difference, promoting positive relationships and developing the whole child, enables pupils of all needs to thrive. Christian values run as a thread through our learning and teaching and collective worship forms an important part of our daily life. While we recognise the importance of achieving high standards here at our school, we are truly passionate about developing the whole child – pupils who are emotionally resilient, empathetic and caring and positive contributors to society – and have designed our curriculum so that it provides the opportunity to do this. We are a fully inclusive Christian learning community where we believe all children have the right to achieve their potential and so we plan carefully to support and challenge them to do so. Here at Oakmeadow, we offer our own fantastic Wraparound provision for all children. We run a Breakfast Club from 7.45am and After School Club provision until 5.45pm. Our wraparound provision is run by our highly qualified school staff, providing familiarity and continuity for the children in our care. Our wraparound clubs provide a calm and safe environment, helping to develop social skills and provide the opportunity for additional learning through ‘play’ activities. It is also a structured time where children can continue their learning experiences linked to their school day. We provide healthy breakfast options for those who require it and tasty snacks after school. Ladybirds Nursery at Oakmeadow School offer provision for 2,3, and 4 year olds.We take pride in our daily provision, our fabulous outdoor area and have a real commitment and focus on outdoor learning including Forest School. Ladybirds embraces the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a principal led, child-centred and play based framework. Our approach is guided by the effective characteristics of learning outlined in the EYFS: creative and critical thinking, playing and exploring and active learning. These characteristics shape a child’s future success as a learner. Ladybirds is led by a qualified teacher and a team of experienced teaching assistants. One of the tremendous benefits of our nursery is the opportunity to progress into our Reception classes and then continue on an educational journey through Oakmeadow, ensuring your child’s transition to school is seamless. At Oakmeadow C of E Primary and Nursery School we strive to provide a supportive learning environment for all our pupils. We endeavour to offer a curriculum that recognises the needs of every child, supports self esteem and provides opportunities to support potential.
