The Archaeology Lab is a welcoming, publicly accessible space where Shropshire Museums are documenting, researching, photographing, and packing the County’s Archaeology Collection. The Lab has been designed to develop purposeful partnerships, and to create and support opportunities for volunteers to learn, socialise and meet like-minded people, whilst making a meaningful contribution to the work of Shropshire Museums. Volunteers will gain transferrable skills, such as such as photography, database entry, and research, whilst working with Shropshire’s fascinating archaeological collections. The Archaeology Lab is open to the public for drop-in slots, usually on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, between 10am and 3:30pm. Please check the noticeboard at the main entrance of Ludlow Library, or email the Collections Project Officer to confirm Lab opening times. For more information, please follow the link to visit the Archaeology Lab webpage, or contact using the details provided. If you run a group or organisation, and are interested in booking in a half-day tutorial session with the Archaeology Lab, please contact the Collections Project Officer, using the details provided, for an informal discussion.
