On behalf of our school community I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Mereside Church of England Primary School. We really value the joint partnership between home and school and see your child’s learning journey through their time with us as a joint venture between you and all members of staff. We believe that all children deserve a broad, balanced and exciting learning experience, irrespective of their starting point or barriers to learning. We offer a broad, rich curriculum in an exciting, stimulating Christian environment, that develops the skills, attributes and talents needed for life long learning. The Christian ethos of our school underpins and permeates all that we do with a clear spiritual and moral dimension. Whilst the Christian faith is the starting point and our central focus, the beliefs and practices of other faiths are respected. It is hoped that parents and children of all faiths and none will find our school a welcoming place. Our school offers education to children from Reception through to Year 6. Treetops Kids Club is a privately run Ofsted registered provision offering a breakfast club, after school club and holiday club. The before and after school clubs are open every school day so that parents can drop off earlier and pick up later than the usual school hours would allow. Please see separate record for further details. We have successfully achieved Dementia Friendly Status promoted by Lichfield Diocesan Board of Education. We are very proud to be able to support all members of our local community. We want dementia awareness to become part of school life, so that we name and face dementia together. We want to be a school which supports people affected by dementia – both someone with a diagnosis and their family/carers.
