The Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Walking Group based in Bridgnorth offers friendly and fun walking for health opportunities for everyone.Previously part of the national Walking for Health initiative, these are gentle, dementia friendly social walks around Bridgnorth town, designed to enable people to enjoy some exercise out in the fresh air.The walks are led by trained volunteer walk leaders who lead the walk at a pace to suit those who come along. They are free and you do not need to book – just turn up a few minutes early to your first walk so that you can meet the walk leader. They are a great way to enjoy some exercise in a friendly social group, and evaluation shows that they help walkers feel fitter, breath easier, lose weight, make new friends, discover new local places and much more.Walks starting from Bridgnorth Library, take place on the third Monday of each month, from 10am to 12noon, and if you have time after the walk, there are refreshments available at the end of the walk. The Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin group walks are slower pace. There are no hills or styles to climb but depending on the route there may be inclines, steps and cobbled areas, so please wear suitable footwear. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed, with the exception of assistance dogs. For more information, please follow the link to visit the Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin website, or contact their Wellbeing Services Team, using the details provided.
