We are a village primary school situated in the beautiful rural setting of Cressage, near Shrewsbury. Our school has a strong sense of family. Our success revolves around our creative and engaging curriculum and the warm relationships we build throughout our school community, reflecting the Christian ethos and values of our school. We are a Church school and those values are at our core, but we welcome and serve children and families of all faiths and none. Our school vision is “Preparing, Sowing, Growing” taken from the parable of the mustard seed – that although it is the smallest of seeds – it grows into a large tree where birds can nest. We want to prepare our children for life in modern Britain and help them find their interests, passions and vocation. They may be small but we want to plant seeds of encouragement, ambition and high academic expectation, so that they grow and live exciting, fulfilled lives which are for the benefit of all the community. Our last Ofsted report was in July 2023 and we were rated ‘Good’ overall with ‘Outstanding’ in the areas of Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes. The report starts with “pupils are at the heart and centre of Christ Church CE Primary School” and we believe that child-centred approach is what every parent wishes for their child. Our school has five classes. Acorn Class has Nursery and Reception children (Big Acorns and Little Acorns). Maple Class has Year 1 and Year 2 children. Holly Class has Year 2 and Year 3 children. Willow Class has Year 4 and 5 children. Oak Class has Year 5 and Year 6 children. Chirst Church Primary School offers a breakfast club from 07:45am and wrap around care and after school clubs until 5.30pm Monday to Thursday. Our Early Years unit offers government-funded education to children for 3 and 4 year olds. Children joining our school at 3 will have the very best start to life as they enjoy our beautiful grounds and enjoy a nurturing and supportive environment which will enable them to transfer to school seemlessly. Children are able to join the term after their third birthday. We accept Government vouchers for 15 or 30 hours and are able to be flexible in sessions offered. Acorns our combined Reception and Nursery unit ensures that your child will have a firm foundation to their education. Through play, talk and care they will be able to flourish and develop.
