Whitchurch Foodbank is for those who find themselves in a crisis situation and cannot feed either themselves or their families. Clients bring their voucher to a foodbank centre where it can be exchanged for the supply of an emergency food parcel. The list of foods in each parcel has been designed by dieticians to provide recipients with nutritionally balanced food. Whitchurch Foodbank takes place at Bargates Hall, on Tuesday and Friday mornings, from 9.30am to 11.30am, and whilst their food is being packed, Foodbank volunteers will sit and chat with clients over a cup of tea or coffee. This enables them to hear their stories and signpost them to agencies who can offer additional help and begin to resolve any underlying problems. Donations of food and other household supplies are always most welcome and can be made at either the Sainsburys or Tesco supermarket. Some foodbanks run a delivery service, to get emergency food to clients living in rural areas and those who are unable to get to a foodbank.
