Overley Hall is a residential special school and Children’s Home providing education and residential care to children and young people from 8-19 years who have a range of complex learning & communication needs including autism and learning disabilities. In addition to children’s services, Overley Hall provides residential care to individuals with complex needs from 19-65 years in their homes for adults. They provide person centred active support to help people live full and independent lives. What Overley Hall do: A small, independent school and home in a tranquil rural setting registered for 22 children and young adults. They provide a calm, caring and stable environment in which children and young people are supported in their learning and daily living. They provide education tailored to the needs of individual students through therapeutic timetables based on a differentiated National Curriculum. They focus on a child’s own interests, aspirations and strengths to engage them in learning and support progress. They provide a warm, friendly and nurturing residential environment in which children and young people in small groups are supported in developing life and social skills and in reaching their highest level of personal independence. They have well qualified staff teams who work very closely with parents, families, staff members and a range of visiting professionals to maintain a caring and knowledgeable team around each child, in order to monitor progress and plan for the future. They create carefully tailored transition plans at various stages of a child’s education and development leading up to, and including, their transition into adulthood and life beyond school.
