West Felton CE Primary School and Nursery is a friendly school working in partnership with parents and the community to offer high quality education for children 2-11 years old. We offer a Breakfast club from 8am – 9am where children can participate in a wide range of activities whilst also having a healthy breakfast. We also run after school activities where healthy snacks are offer. At West Felton our nursery and reception aged children are taught in Acorn Class. Our early Years unit caters for children 2 to 5 years old. We have two spacious classrooms and an outdoor area. We offer a caring and nurturing environment which has the children at the heart of our practice. Children have access to a wide range of exciting activities. The Early Years Unit offers children a gradual introduction into school life, offering fantastic opportunities to transition smoothly into full time education supported by staff who know them and their families well. The school is set in a rural location and is at the heart of the local village community. Children access weekly sports sessions, ICT facilities, Forest schools’ sessions and engagement with the whole school community. We pride ourselves on our nurturing and welcoming atmosphere in which all children are treated as part of a big family. We work alongside children and their families to help all children achieve their full potential in an active, creative, fun and play based environment. Staff trained with ‘Cool Kids’ occupational therapy programme, NELI (Nuffield Early Language Intervention) programme.
