Shropshire Ornithological Society was formed in 1955 and has about 800 members. These members include a cross section of people from garden birdwatchers to advanced specialists involved with ringing and various scientific projects. The Society organises field trips throughout the year and a winter programme of speaker presentations held on the first Wednesday of each month. Events and activities are open to both visitors and non-members.
