Safe Places Shropshire is a community-led initiative supported by Shropshire Council, Telford & Wrekin Council, and West Mercia Police. It provides a network of ‘short-term safe havens’ for people who may require additional support and assistance when they are out and about in the community. The aim of ‘Safe Places’ is to provide vulnerable individuals with a number of places that they know they can go to and immediately receive support and understanding about their issues. This includes people with learning disabilities or those who live with anxiety attacks or dementia. Each location that signs up to the initiative will display a sticker that identifies it as a ‘Safe Place’. This scheme gives people more confidence to travel independently around Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. It will also allow carers to feel reassured that there is always likely to be help nearby for their loved ones.As of April 2025 the following locations in Church Stretton had signed up to the initiative:British Red Cross Charity ShopCarding Mill Valley CaféChurch Stretton LibraryChurch Stretton Police StationFamily ShopperHealth and Wellbeing Cafe – Mayfair Centre Community CafeHillside PharmacyHolly Bush CaféHope House Charity ShopHough and SonsMayfair Community CentreMidcounties Co-operativeMr Bun the BakerPCB SolicitorsRowlands PharmacyScrappiesTeme Leisure CentreVine & Co (formerly Newsworld and Sandford Hardwear)Visitor Information Centre & Customer Service PointFor more information, please follow the link to visit the Safe Places Shropshire website or contact Ruby using the details provided, or Ann by telephone on 07970 816030 or via email to: safeplacessecretary@gmail.com We're sorry but <%= htmlWebpackPlugin.options.title %> doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.
