Circle Dancing is a collection of dances and music from around the world that are mostly danced in a circle form or lines. Some dances are traditional and some are choreographed with a wide range of moods from slow and gentle to more energetic and celebratory. It is suitable for people of all ages, abilities and levels of fitness who want to dance. No partner is needed, and no special footwear or clothing required. It is an inclusive, joyful and soothing activity that improves positive body image and self esteem, concentration, co-ordination and communication. It is also a great way to meet people and promotes mutual support and a sense of belonging and well-being. Classes are held in Shrewsbury each Tuesday afternoon, during term time, from 2.30pm to 4.15pm. Participants are asked to enrol for the term but can come and try it out on the first session of each new term to see if it is suitable for them.
