Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s Benefits Team offer free, independent and confidential advice and information about all aspects of welfare benefits for those over retirement age. Staff can check your benefit entitlement, help you to claim what you are entitled to, assist where claims have been unsuccessful, and may also be able to help with over-payment issues. Benefits covered include: Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Housing Benefit, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payments. Please note: due to high demand for the Age UK benefits service, an appointments system is in operation, and when you contact the office, a receptionist will be able to advise you when a benefits officer will be available to call you back, or alternatively they will book a 30 minute face-to-face appointment, if this is required.
