Wem Civic Society is open to all members of the community including those in the surrounding villages. It has a wider number of interests than most civic societies. These range beyond the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area, to include the history and natural history of the area. Meetings are held at Wem Town Hall, on the third Tuesday in each month, from 7.30pm unless otherwise advertised. There are also other events such as walks and research projects.
