Bishop’s Castle Heritage Resource Centre (BCHRC) is a local heritage store and history research centre in South Shropshire. BCHRC is owned and run by the House on Crutches Museum Collection Trust, which is responsible for the displays in the House on Crutches Museum. The Centre’s museum standard store holds heritage items belonging to individuals and organisations who want to preserve their archives, as well as the reserve collection from the House on Crutches Museum Collection Trust. This collection depicts rural life in this corner of South West Shropshire and much of it can be viewed online. Bishop’s Castle Heritage Resource Centre is involved in community heritage projects, often linked to the town’s museums and local groups. They are always happy to hear from schools, individuals and groups of all ages. The Centre is open on Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 1pm as a Local History Centre, hosting a growing collection of research resources from Bishop’s Castle and the surrounding villages. Facilities at BCHRC are available for hire to organisations and individuals. The Centre also hosts the Bishops Castle and Area Heritage Forum which meets once a quarter at BCHRC.
