Idsall School and Sixth Form is a thriving and highly successful school that believes every student can reach their potential. Idsall School is a large 11-18 mainstream school set within its own pleasant extensive campus in Shifnal, just a few miles to the south east of Telford. They have an excellent reputation both for the high quality of their teaching and learning and for their friendly, supportive and caring approach. Their highly committed staff of teachers and non-teachers work extremely hard to ensure our students get an excellent education in order that they achieve their very best according to their individual abilities and become well-rounded citizens. The Sixth form offers a selection of A-Level and BTEC courses, to their enrichment and personal development programme, they believe that the quality of experience they provide sends their students out into the world as young adults ready to flourish. Many of the students who attend the sixth form have been with the school since Year 7, which is testament to the commitment of the staff and the students’ trust in the support and teaching they will receive. For those joining Idsall from other schools, there is a strong sense of community that really welcomes them and very quickly helps them to feel like valued members of the school. Students with SEND are fully integrated into the life of the school and the curriculum; they recognise the strengths of every individual as well as any areas for development. They aim to ensure that all students contribute to the social and cultural activities of the school. The school day is organised into five one hour teaching periods, with four periods before lunch and one after lunch. The school day begins for students at 8.50 am when they are registered in tutor groups. Lessons end at 3.00 pm. Idsall are proud of the huge range of extra curricular activities on offer to students after school between 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm in what they have called ‘Session Six’, and everyone is encouraged to join in. The school provides transport to Albrighton, Telford and Sheriffhales for those who stay and this leaves school at 4.15 pm. This is heavily subsidised, but parents are asked to contribute towards the cost. We're sorry but <%= htmlWebpackPlugin.options.title %> doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.
