The school was built in 1989 and occupies a position between Herongate Estate and Greenfield’s, along the Ellesmere Road in North Shrewsbury and caters for children from Nursery to year six ( 3-11). Greenfields Primary School is part of Severn Bridges Multi-Academy Trust, which is made up of three primary schools in Shrewsbury, all dedicated to providing the highest possible academic opportunities, and developing the all round skills of our children. The school motto is “Kind Hearts, Inquiring Minds ” which reflects our School Vision. The staff are approachable and very dedicated. Everyone has high expectations of the children and their community and are totally committed to improving the all-round achievements of the children. Alongside an exciting and broad curriculum, the committed staff runs a very wide variety of extra-curricular activities which include, but are not limited to, football for girls and boys, netball, choir, art, dance, garden craft, unusual sport, tag rugby, cricket, athletics, yoga, and ultimate Frisbee. Treehouse breakfast club and after school run daily. Breakfast club runs from 7.50am – 8.30am and costs £4.00. Children can take part in adult-led activities in the hall either before or after breakfast. Nursery and Reception children will be escorted to class at the end of the session, older children in the main building will walk to class ready for the start of the school day. A selection of breakfast food choices are provided and are eaten in the Hub. Afterschool runs until 6pm. Nursery and Reception children are brought to Treehouse by the class teacher or teaching assistant, older children in the main building come to us at the end of the school day. The children can choose from various activities when they arrive. At 4.15pm the children are split into two groups, one group is offered a snack (which might include wraps, sandwiches etc) whilst the other group (weather permitting) go for an activity outside, then we swap over. Children can be collected at any time between 3.15pm and 6.00pm and costs £10.00. Greenfields Primary nursery offers half day sessions & full day sessions. Children can also access before and after school clubs. The nursery offers a vibrant, safe and nurturing environment where children can start their learning. Fun, stimulating and educational activities are on offer with the opportunity for outside learning including our on-site Forest School. The nursery is run by an Early Years Qualifed Teacher. The nursery accepts free 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds and the 30 hours per week.
