I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder who provides a home from home stimulating environment for children in the early year’s age group. I am able to offer a range of activities whilst providing consistent care. The children are able to benefit from one-to-one care whilst enjoying healthy, home cooked family meals. I live on the outskirts of Whitchurch in a rural location with easy access to the town and its amenities. My mission statement is to work together in partnership with parents to provide all children in my care with a clean, safe, loving, home-like environment where everyone feels valued. Where standards are high, independence can be developed and where there is a wealth of learning opportunities, both structured and flexible, to help children to achieve their goals and promote their self-esteem. Respect towards self, others and the environment will always be emphasised. Local offer: The setting is based in a private house and therefore may not be suitable for children with certain additional needs or disabilities, while we will endeavour to accommodate each individual child’s needs this may not be practical or possible. If it is in the child’s best interests to find care in another setting we will help parents in any way we can. For children who attend the setting their individual needs will be assessed at the start of their care and all parties, parents, children and myself will be involved in discussions to ensure the care provided is in the child’s best interests. Permission will be sought from the parents to discuss ongoing needs with other professionals concerned with the child’s care or to gain advice or further help from them if needed. All children will be treated with respect and their individual needs given regard at all times through respectful and sensitive interaction between the adults in the setting and the other children who are cared for. Assessments on all children will be undertaken on a regular basis and these will be discussed with the parents, any concerns which may arise will be dealt with by introducing a strategy which will ensure the child”s welfare and development needs are being met at all times.
