Pets As Therapy is a national charity founded in 1983. It is unique in that it provides therapeutic visits to hospitals, hospices, nursing and care homes, special needs schools and a variety of other venues by volunteers with their own friendly, temperament tested and vaccinated dogs and cats. Therapeutic visits: Enhance lives in the communities by providing companionship and friendship and helps to tackle loneliness. Improve the lives of people suffering from debilitating mental and physical health conditions and illnesses such as Autism, Dementia and Stroke by including animal assisted interventions as part of a holistic approach to treatment. Improve literacy in children by developing their confidence, interest and enjoyment in reading through our read2dogs scheme. Please note, they do not do individual home visits. https://www.facebook.com/petsastherapy https://www.facebook.com/petsastherapy Pets As Therapy – Volunteer https://petsastherapy.org/information/for-volunteers/volunteer Pets As Therapy – News and Events https://petsastherapy.org/information/news-and-events Availability information Office Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 3.30pm.
