Walking for Health walks, are short walks designed to enable people to enjoy some exercise out in the fresh air, and are part of the national Walking for Health initiative. The walks are led by trained volunteer walk leaders who lead the walk at a pace to suit those who come along. They are free and you do not need to book – just turn up a few minutes early to your first walk so that you can meet the walk leader. They are a great way to enjoy some exercise in a friendly social group, and evaluation shows that walkers are feeling fitter, breathing easier, losing weight, making new friends, discovering new local places and much more. The Clun Walking for Health Group meets at The Maltings Tea Room, every Tuesday, and suitable footwear with a good grip is recommended. For more details of the grades, lengths and times of the walks available in your area follow the link to the Walking for Health website, or contact the Walking Coordinators using the details shown.
